Young Souls
Young Souls
All Souls has a strong and active young adults community known as the Young Souls. We define young adults broadly as 18-35+ years and offer a variety ways for people to connect within that community. We have several recurring monthly events, including a potluck, happy hour, movie night, and monthly lunch after service. In addition to those events, we have a listserv that allows individuals to post social events or social justice activities that give us further chances to come together as well as have impact on the community. If you’re interested in the group, we encourage you to subscribe to our listserv or attend one of our regular monthly events, each of which is described in more detail. You should also feel free to e-mail Erin Powers (powers.em@gmail.com) with any questions about the events below or the group in general.
Young Souls Lunch After Service
Every Sunday, All Souls serves lunch after service for the entire congregation in Pierce Hall. The Young Souls claim a table or two so we can have lunch together as a group. It is meant as an easy way for young adults attending service to come together in community, and also to give newcomers who are checking out the All Souls service an opportunity to get a sense of the young adult community.
Monthly Potluck
On the third Sunday of each month, the Young Souls host a potluck at a member’s home or apartment. This event gives us an opportunity to come together as a group in an informal way outside of the traditional church setting. The date and location of the potluck is announced every month through our listserv and can also be found on our calendar.
Monthly Happy Hour
We organize a Happy Hour during the first week of each month at a local bar. This event tends to draw the older side of the All Souls age range, and, like the potluck, gives people an opportunity to come together in an informal way outside of the traditional church setting. The location and date is announced every month through the listserv and can also be found on our calendar
Movie Night
One Friday night a month, the Young Souls organize a movie outing. The choice of films varies, but tends to gravitate more towards the eclectic than the mainstream (If you’re a fan of the E Street Cinema, you’ll probably find a home here). Details are available on the calendar or through the listserv.
Get Involved
The easiest way to get involved in the group and stay informed about events is to join the Young Souls listserv. You can join the listserv by going to
We are always looking for volunteers to host potlucks and to organize new events. If you’d like to host one of our monthly potlucks, or if you have an idea for a Young Souls event, please contact Torrey Androski (androskit@yahoo.com).
